Promotion of the MSE Training Centre

On June 27, 2012, in the premises of the Macedonian Stock Exchange, was announced the establishment of the MSE Training centre, a project implemented with support from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and in its concrete implementation were involved consultants from the Wiener Borse Consortium.

In front of representatives from the media, short speeches about the motives for establishing the Training centre, the manner of implementation of this project and the future expectations were given by Mrs. Elena Urumovska, Head of Skopje Office, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development Skopje Resident Office, Mr. Hannes A.. Takacz, Principal partner at CAPMEX - The Capital Market Experts from Vienna, Austria and Mr. Ivan Steriev, CEO of the Macedonian Stock Exchange.
 
Mrs. Urumovska welcomed the idea of the Macedonina Stock Exchange to establish this Training centre, emphasizing that: "The project is in accordance with the EBRD initiative to support the development of capital markets in countries where the Bank is operating. We believe that the experience of the Bank, among others gained as investor in the Moscow Stock Exchange, may be useful in the process of consolidation of the stock exchanges in the region, including the Macedonian Stock Exchange. "
 
Referring to the motives for establishing the MSE Training centre, the CEO of the Macedonian Stock Exchange, Mr. Ivan Steriev said "The main objective of the Training centre is to provide continuous and high-quality education of the existing and potential participants in the Macedonian securities market in the field of trading with securities, financial instruments and other relevant topics, given the fact that the strengthening of the capacities of all market participants is one of the most important preconditions for its further development. "
 
In his presentation, Mr. Takacs once again emphasized the role that the education of investors and companies has in the process of propulsion of the capital markets and in the strengthening of the investors’ protection, underlining that "Only investors with necessary know-how are active investors."
 


Afterwards, was presented the curriculum of the Training centre within which initially are provided 7 training topics: Principles of capital markets, Personal Financial Planning, Corporate finance, Investment Banking, Financial Statement Analysis, Communicating Financial Informationand Futures and Options. Lecturers will be distinguished domestic experts in the field of finance and securities market.
 
Also, it was noted that the courses are intended to: current and future individual and institutional investors, banks, brokerage houses and other financial institutions, joint stock companies, the media and all interested persons who wish to gain or deepen their knowledge in finance and securities market.
 
The first courses within the Training centre will be organized in October 2012.
