Within the cooperation and tradition of exchange of information and experiences between the Embassy of the United States and Macedonian Stock Exchange, the new U.S. Ambassador, HE Paul D. Wohlers met with the management of MSE. During the meeting the history, organization, principles of operation and current developments of the Macedonian Stock Exchange were presented. Also, the current situation and challenges of world financial markets were discussed.
U.S. Ambassador, HE Paul D. Wohlers, in his statement after the meeting expressed satisfaction that he met the management of the Macedonian Stock Exchange and with the opportunity to become familiar with some aspects of the functioning of the economic system in Macedonia, where, he said, the stock market should play a key role. Furthermore, he stressed the role that USAID, through several projects had in developing the capital market in Macedonia and that "it is an excellent example of how two countries worked together and to be partners in development of helpful projects for Macedonia.”.
Chief Executive Officer of the Macedonian Stock Exchange Ivan Steriev, thanks for visiting the new U.S. Ambassador HE Paul Wohlers and said "our belief is that in this turbulent period, we, as a necessary infrastructure in the national economy, effectively we perform our function of market formation and distribution of prices of securities, which enables evaluation of the economic assets and give signals to adjust the different economic actors. ".
