On December 9, 2008 in hotel “Holiday Inn” – Skopje Macedonian Stock Exchange organized Round table where the results of the Pilot surveys on web sites of leading Macedonian listed companies were presented. These Surveys are the project of MSE supported by Partners for Financial Stability Program, USAID Business Environment Activity in Macedonia and IFC Corporate Governance Project.
The purpose of these Surveys is to determine if the companies provide appropriate information to potential investors and appropriate information about their corporate social responsibilities (Corporate Governance, Environmental Policy and Social Policy).
Mr. Ivan Steriev, CEO of the Macedonian Stock Exchange, said that all the institutions on the capital market should look into the future and to work on improvement of the climate of the Corporate Governance and transparency of the companies in order to promote the companies to the investors.
Mr. Geoffrey Mazullo, Director of PFS Program had a presentation, comparing the data from the Macedonian companies with peers in Bulgaria, Croatia and Romania. He said that the results are positive, but there is a potential for improvement.
